Hanasato in Groningen

Normally I don't leave any comment, but this time I have to: This restaurant was great!

I am a Japanese person, grew up eating Japanese food. So, I can make the right judgment on Japanese food. Their Teriyaki was made of shoyu, mirin and sake, in the traditional manner. Rice was cooked in the perfect condition. Miso-soup was not instant. Everything was cooked freshly. And yes, sushi was beautiful and tasty. They don't serve ordinary sushi that you see everywhere, but it was a common sushi I see in Japan.

There are many kinds of sushi, like the way there are many kinds of pasta in Italy. Italian people would laugh at me if I say I know all about Italian food, just because I've been to Rome. For me, the bad comment I read on this web-site is like that.

Service was great, too. Decent yet fun. The waiter spoke not only Dutch/English, but also fluent Japanese. My baby made a mess but they cleaned it up quickly.

My husband and I had a great time. I have lived in Drenthe for 3 years so far, and from my point of view this is the only place I can enjoy traditional Japanese food in the neighbourhood.
