In den Doofpot in Leiden

This restaurant should be avoided at all times! We were a group of 8 and had explicitly requested quiet seating three weeks ago to ensure that a normal conversation could be held. We repeated this twice in subsequent phone calls. To our huge disappointment we found ourselves seated next to a table of 12 businesspeople. Not one time was this mentioned to us when making the booking. Needless to say that the whole evening was a disaster.

When mentioning this to the owner, he calmly stated that the other group had made a prior reservation. No apologies were offered whatsoever, but that is probably not surprising considering the name of the place: Nomen est omen.

As for the food: uninspired cooking.
