Lucas Rive in Hoorn

Last Friday my family and I had dinner at Lucas Rive. We were greeted warmly at the door by the hostess. Once seated at a nice table which gave us a great view of the open planned kitchen, we chose the 5 course all inclusive menu and let the chef surprise us. The first 3 courses of fish were all completely different, but equally delicious; we couldn't pick a favorite! The staff were lovely and attentive, doing their best to explain the dishes and the wines in English because of my English speaking partner, even though half the table did speak Dutch.
The main course of duck breast was a favorite with all the men and the dessert went down a treat too.
The whole night was a great success (sorry for spilling my coffee though!). I personally think that at Lucas Rive they manage to give you the full experience: beautiful food, professional, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
